At a previous firm, Mr. Webber obtained a trial verdict in Anderton v. Bass Underwriters Inc. on behalf of a 61-year-old underwriter who was unfairly terminated from her employment in favor of a younger male colleague. Anderton received “pushback” from Bass Underwriters after she recommended a female coworker for a promotion in her office, largely occupied by men. Following this incident, male executives began making comments about Anderton’s age and pressured her to retire. Thereafter, Anderton was terminated. Mr. Webber second-chaired this trial.
